Enrollment in the online courses is open for professionals seeking to enhance qualifications in their current jobs or want a new career. Upon completion of the six-month program, students will receive a professional certificate from UNF.

“The Jacksonville region is a hotbed for the financial technology and healthcare industries, and we want to provide the highly-skilled talent needed to power growth in these data-driven careers,” said Edythe Abdullah, dean of UNF’s Division of Continuing Education, in a news release.

“UNF graduates can look forward to an abundance of career opportunities in data science and analytics, and our programs and mentors are ready to support those interested in breaking into these fields,” said Parul Gupta, co-founder of Springboard, in the release.

Jacksonville is No. 18 on CompTIA’s list of Top 20 Tech Towns. Global employers in Northeast Florida need skilled talent in data-centered industries including health care, technology and financial services. According to Emsi Workforce Development research, more than 2,000 data-centric job postings in the Jacksonville metro area were unfilled in the past year, the release states.
