Jacksonville, Fla. (Oct. 11, 2022) CareerSource Northeast Florida (CareerSource NEFL) and St. Johns River State College (SJRSC) will be joined by more than 15 manufacturers to introduce students to jobs in the industry during the Manufacturing Job Fair from 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 20 at the SJRSC Orange Park Campus, located at 283 College Dr.
The in-person job fair coincides with National Manufacturing Month. There are more than 1,000 manufacturing companies located in Northeast Florida, boasting an average wage of more than $68,000 annually.
“The companies taking part in the job fair are hiring for a wide variety of jobs, from general laborer to chemical engineer, and multiple companies are hiring welders, production technicians and positions related to quality assurance,” said Roben Faircloth, CareerSource NEFL Industry Sector Manager for Manufacturing, Aviation & Aerospace. “There are also positions that might not come to mind when you say “manufacturing,” including customer service representatives and carpenter positions.”
Companies represented include Aero-Hose, Corp., CertainTeed. COMARCO Products, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast, Georgia-Pacific, Innovative Construction Group, Johnson Controls, Johnson & Johnson, Riley Gear Corporation, Niagara Bottling, Northrop Grumman, Sunesta, The Boeing Company, The Chemours Company, Vac-Con, Veritas Steel and Vision Manufacturing Technologies, Inc.
