Reemployment Assistance Benefits

Reemployment Assistance (also called reemployment assistance insurance) provides temporary wage replacement benefits to qualified individuals who are out of work through no fault of their own. You can apply for Reemployment Assistance benefits through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO).

File your claim online

CONNECT is DEO’s automated system that allows job seekers to file, manage, and check in on their Reemployment Assistance (unemployment) claims. The system is available 24 hours a day for claimants to:

  • View all of your claim information in one convenient place, including whether you have weeks to claim, issues to resolve, or any requests for additional information to process your claim.
  • Update information anytime – including change of address or phone number.
  • Choose the way you receive notifications.

DEO has created the Reemployment Assistance Help Center—an online portal for both claimants and employers. This self-help portal continues to be updated with additional capabilities including reporting fraud or identity theft, uploading documents, contesting monetary determinations, and filing appeal requests. The Help Center provides resources such as step-by-step guides, frequently asked questions, and informational videos. The Help Center is available 24 hours a day.

Agency Assist – People who need assistance filing a claim online because of legal reasons, computer illiteracy, language barriers, or disabilities may call 1-833-FL-APPLY (1-833-352-7759).

RA Fraud Hotline – Reemployment Assistance Fraud is a third-degree felony and can result in jail time. Report RA fraud online or you may also report fraud by calling 1-833-FL-APPLY (1-833-352-7759).

Employer Contact Line – For assistance related to an employer’s CONNECT account, responding to requests for information, and chargeability issues call 1-833-FL-APPLY (1-833-352-7759).

Identity Verification Process

DEO partnered with ID.me to help keep Floridians’ identities secure from fraudulent activity and bolster current fraud prevention measures.  Any new claimant filing for Reemployment Assistance will need to verify their identity through ID.me.
