Industry on the move: Transportation experiencing strong job growth in Jacksonville
May 26, 2020 (Courtesy of hoodline.com) Jacksonville's transportation industry is experiencing strong job growth. Local employers posted 182 new jobs over the past week and 698 new jobs in the last month, ranking third among local industries, according to ZipRecruiter, a leading online employment marketplace. Meet Darryl Brown, Transportation & Logistics Industry Manager
Darryl Brown is the Transportation and Logistics sector manager at CareerSource Northeast Florida. Prior to joining CareerSource, Darryl was the President/CEO of BMO Solutions Group. Darryl is a former naval officer with over 20 years of management and leadership experience in logistics with both government and private agencies.
As a naval officer, Darryl was the Director of Logistics for Destroyer Squadron Six. In this capacity, he managed logistics requirements both in the United States and South America. During his tenure as Commanding Officer of USS Robert G. Bradley, Darryl developed policy and provided direction to support logistics and transportation requirement for an operational budget in excess of $10 million. As the president for BMO Solutions, Darryl was responsible for business development in North East Florida. Darryl is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and the Naval War College with a Masters of Arts degree in National Security & Strategic Studies.
