JAXPORT Sets Record Volume of Cargo in 2019
December 10, 2019 (Courtesy: Jacksonville Business Journal) Jaxport saw record volumes in 2019 of containers, autos and overall cargo. JAXPORT moved more than 1.338 million twenty-foot equivalent units, a 5 percent increase from 2018 - which was also a record year at the port. The port has seen four consecutive record years. Meet Darryl Brown, Transportation & Logistics Industry Manager
Darryl Brown is the Transportation and Logistics sector manager at CareerSource Northeast Florida. Prior to joining CareerSource, Darryl was the President/CEO of BMO Solutions Group. Darryl is a former naval officer with over 20 years of management and leadership experience in logistics with both government and private agencies.
As a naval officer, Darryl was the Director of Logistics for Destroyer Squadron Six. In this capacity, he managed logistics requirements both in the United States and South America. During his tenure as Commanding Officer of USS Robert G. Bradley, Darryl developed policy and provided direction to support logistics and transportation requirement for an operational budget in excess of $10 million. As the president for BMO Solutions, Darryl was responsible for business development in North East Florida. Darryl is a graduate of University of South Carolina with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and the Naval War College with a Masters of Arts degree in National Security & Strategic Studies.
