My E-Verify
E-Verify is an online system developed to help employers verify that their new hires are eligible to work in the United States. It works by taking the information from an employee’s Form I-9. Employment Eligibility Verification to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Social Security Administration (SSA), and Department of State (DOS) records to confirm that you are authorized to work in the U.S.
Now the Department of Homeland Security has launched a tool that allows employees to check their own status in E-Verify and make corrections before seeking new employment. The site includes information on workers’ rights during the E-Verify process and how to fix issues and contest results.
The site allows workers to set up a personal account after passing an identity proof quiz and successfully completing a Self Check query with employment authorized result. Having an account allows you to manage your security questions, password, and your email address, and contact information.
