Fortune 500 company FIS opens new Jacksonville headquarters in Riverside (Courtesy of the Florida Times-Union) — FIS, a global corporation for financial products and services, opened its new headquarters Wednesday in Jacksonville.
While in the region, FIS has grown as a Fortune 500 company with nearly $14 billion in annual revenue, said Lauren Pozmanter, FIS marketing and communications manager.
In late 2019, FIS committed to bring at least 500 new jobs to Jacksonville within 10 years to increase its local workforce to 1,800 employees. Pozmanter said FIS is already 75% of the way to that goal as of the headquarters opening.
“This moment marks a new chapter in the growth story of FIS and for this city as well, as Florida and the First Coast continue to blossom as a hub for the fintech industry, attracting young and experienced talent to the community,” Pozmanter said. “Jacksonville continues to be an epicenter of finance, with 20 major banks, insurance and investment firms on the Forbes Global 500 list having centers of operation in the city.”
The building boasts a 21-foot green wall, continuous shaded walkway from Riverside Avenue to the Riverwalk and a linear garden walk with public art provided in partnership with the Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville.
The FIS parking garage will be open for community use on nights, weekends and holidays as well.
“We are incredibly excited to open our headquarters not just to our employees, but to the broader Jacksonville community,” Pozmanter said. “We want this to be a place our community convenes for local events.”
