Baptist Medical Center set for millions in renovations (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — Baptist Medical Center will undergo $7.2 million in renovations.
Two permits issued March 26 by separate companies outline renovations to Baptist Medical Center at 800 Prudential Drive, including an expansion of the labor and delivery suite.
A $4.6 million permit calls for the expansion of the labor and delivery suite into the area vacated by the NICU as well as the renovation of existing operating rooms in the women’s pavilion. The Haskell Company will perform the construction.
The other permit for the medical center issued $2.6 million in work to renovate three cardiovascular operating rooms. Legacy Engineering received the permit on behalf of the hospital.
Last year, Baptist opened a Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center location at the hospital’s $234 million, six-story Baptist Medical Center Clay campus in Fleming Island. Baptist Health announced plans to jointly launch a network of ambulatory surgery centers branded as Horizon Surgery Center with Compass Surgical Partners in January.
