Landstar opens new facility in Indiana (Courtesy of Jacksonville Business Journal) — Landstar System Inc. opened a new 8,000-square-foot field operations center in Crawfordsville, Indiana, on Friday.

The Jacksonville-based transport company built the facility on 14 acres of property off Exit 39 of Interstate 74. Crawfordsville is about an hour west of Indianapolis.

Landstar leased owner-operators will have access to classrooms, a conference room, a breakroom, a business center with free Wi-Fi, laundry and shower facilities within the center.

“We’re excited to open this new field operations center in Crawfordsville. This new facility reinforces Landstar’s commitment to maintaining a network of regional facilities across the United States and in Canada for our leased owner-operators,” said Rocco Davanzo, Landstar’s executive vice president of capacity development, in a release. “These locations are designed and staffed so that Landstar’s independent owner-operators can easily connect with advisors, network with peers, and participate in continuous professional education to keep their businesses running smoothly.”

Secured parking for more than 100 tractor-trailer combinations, 15 drop-trailer spots and more than 50 passenger vehicle spaces are available at the facility.
