Acadia Healthcare permitted to build-out $47.95 million hospital in St. Augustine (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Daily Record) — Acadia Healthcare is permitted to build-out a $47.95 million behavioral hospital in St. Augustine.

The two-story, 99,485-square-foot facility is at 132 Moonbay Parkway off Old County Road 210 east of Interstate 295.

St. Johns County issued the building permit Nov. 18. It follows a permit it issued on Sept. 9 for the hospital’s foundation, at a project cost of $1.3 million.

Brentwood, Tennessee-based Crunk Engineering LLC is the civil engineer. Acadia Health owns the 6-acre property.

Headquartered in Franklin, Tennessee, Acadia Healthcare was established in January 2005 to develop and operate a network of behavioral health facilities across the country.

Acadia provides psychiatric and chemical dependency services to patients in settings that include inpatient psychiatric hospitals, specialty treatment facilities, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics and therapeutic school-based programs.

As of June, Acadia operated a network of 258 behavioral health care facilities with about 11,400 beds in 38 states and Puerto Rico.

Its more than 23,500 employees serve about 75,000 patients daily.
