Behavioral health care company plans major project in St. Johns (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — Indianapolis-based Acadia Healthcare Company is planning a large project in St. Johns County that will include a facility of almost 100,000 square feet and more than 200 full-time jobs with an average salary of $75,000.

The new facility will be built near the intersection of County Road 210 and Moon Bay Parkway.

The company is a behavioral healthcare service provider that offers inpatient, outpatient, detoxification and residential treatment.

According to county documents, the project is expected to be finished by the fourth quarter of 2025. Acadia purchased the property earlier this month for just more than $9 million.

Acadia is seeking tax incentives in the form of rebates from the county.

Under the proposal, Acadia would get back about $1.6 million in taxes and fees over a 20-year period. The project scored 7.5 points under the new industry category of the county’s Business Incentive Program, which makes it eligible for expedited permitting and an economic development incentive.

That item will go before county commissioners at the March 5 meeting.

The expected capital outlay by Acadia is expected to be approximately $76.7 million, county documents show.
