Jacksonville, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2023) Employers can find out how to take advantage of workforce training grants offered by CareerSource during a webinar set for 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5.
Employers can register to attend the free webinar at https://bit.ly/CareerSourceFLWorkforceTrainingGrantWebinar120523.
The webinar will be conducted by Malissa Counts, the grants manager at CareerSource Florida, who will provide insight on state-level programs that can help companies of all sizes and across many industries grow and compete by keeping them at the top of their game. Attendees will learn how their business can take advantage of Workforce Training Grants, along with Incumbent Worker Training and Quick Response Training offered by CareerSource.
“Our goal is to increase the number of businesses applying for the workforce training grants by making sure employers are knowledgeable about them,” Counts said. “The system has changed over the years, as well as sources of funding, and we’ll go over that plus overcoming obstacles that may be keeping businesses from applying for the grants.”
In her role, Counts has oversight over the agency’s $10 million training grant budget.
The workforce training grants are a customized, business-driven program that continues to play a vital role in the state’s overall economic development efforts. Businesses can use the grants to train new employees, upskill existing employees to make business improvements and keep up with changes in technology and reskill employees who lose their positions due to layoffs and other reductions-in-force.
