Metro area

In June 2026, nonagricultural employment in the Jacksonville MSA was 800,300, an increase of 2,600 jobs (+0.3 percent) over the year. The Education and Health Services (+4.8 percent); Professional and Business Services (+2.0 percent); Manufacturing (+1.4 percent); Other Services (+0.7 percent); and Leisure and Hospitality (+0.6 percent) industries grew as fast or faster in the metro area than statewide over the year.

The Jacksonville MSA had the highest annual job growth compared to all the metro areas in the state in the Other Services (+200 jobs) industry. The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+6,400 jobs); Professional and Business Services (+2,300 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+600 jobs); Manufacturing (+500 jobs); and Other Services (+200 jobs). The industries losing jobs over the year were Financial Activities (-4,000 jobs); Government (2,400 jobs); Information (-600 jobs); Trade, Transportation, and Utilities (-300 jobs); and Mining, Logging, and Construction (-100 jobs).
