Jacksonville AI firm announces layoffs (Courtesy of First Coast INNO) — The state of Florida released plans from Genpact — a global AI and technology giant — to shrink its Jacksonville workforce, laying off 60 employees at the end of November.

With over 800 clients in more than 30 countries, Genpact is a professional services and solutions firm specializing in AI, data, technology and other digital services.

The company is reducing its workforce at its Jacksonville office located at 6737 Southpoint Drive South, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice filed with the state Thursday and unsealed Monday.

The layoffs are part of “a workforce reduction related to some services performed,” according to the notice. “While other operations in connection with this location will continue,” Genpact wrote, “operations related to some services will cease.”

In the letter, Genpact stated that, pursuant to the Federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, all 60 employees have been individually notified. The affected employees are not represented by a union.

“We are committed to handling every transition thoughtfully and smoothly and ensuring everyone is treated fairly and respectfully,” a Genpact spokesperson told the Business Journal.

Displaced employees include 16 senior process associates, five process developers, 36 process associates, one management trainee and two assistant managers, according to the notice.

“The Company hopes to accomplish this process with the least possible disruption to its affected employees and surrounding community,” Genpact stated in the WARN letter.
