Jacksonville logistics company beefs up executive ranks with expansion to Chicago (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — Jacksonville-based logistics company ArdentX is expanding to Chicago, with a team of people working from the Windy City to meet the needs of their growing company.

“We realized that there were going to be people out there that could also be on our team and help us get to the next level of where we really wanted to go. And we realized that we didn’t have all the tools or all the experience that we felt was required to get to that level,” said ArdentX co-founder Connor Miller. “So, we found people that I would consider as comparable to us as far as their work ethic, their values and their intuition, but they just had a different level of experience.”

Founded in 2018 by father-son duo, ArdentX is a carrier and freight broker and handles warehousing and distribution, cross docking, drayage, and expedited shipments.

The new team consists of a vice president of operations, director of carrier operations, director of customer sales and a director of customer operations, all based out of Chicago.

According to Miller, some of the new hires have worked for multi-billion-dollar companies, managed hundreds of people, and brought in billions in revenue, making the expertise they all bring to the table extremely valued for the up-and-coming company.

“Chicago, in general, is one of the biggest freight transportation hubs in the entire country as far as carrier operations and broker operations go,” Miller said. “The talent pool in Chicago is tremendous.”

The company has set a goal of doubling its revenue to $300 million in the next four years, a goal that required expanding the company’s leadership.

Next year, the company plans to officially open an office in Chicago.
