Jax-based manufacturing company moves HQ to Deerwood Distribution Center (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — Franklin Southern Manufacturing, a Jacksonville-based steel and aluminum metal product manufacturing company, moved its corporate headquarters to Deerwood Distribution Center.
NAI Hallmark, leasing agent for EastGroup Properties Inc. (NYSE:EGP) representing its industrial portfolio for the Southside, announced that it has completed a long-term lease for a 75,664-square-foot space at 8500 Baycenter Road.
According to NAI Hallmark, the deal represents one of the largest industrial leases in 2022 for the Southside market. NAI Hallmark’s Patrick Thornton, principal; Jason Purdy, vice president; and Camden Padgett, associate; represented EastGroup Properties Inc. in the transaction.
“For a steel and aluminum metal product manufacturing company to expand by more than six times the size of their current facility is a positive sign of the resurgence of local manufacturing in our country,” Purdy said in a release. “We’re very excited to have Franklin Southern Manufacturing as a customer with EastGroup Properties.”
Deerwood Distribution Center, a 130,000-square-foot, multi-tenant warehouse facility was one of the earliest warehouse projects delivered in the Deerwood Center Business Park and is leased exclusively by NAI Hallmark.
“Franklin Southern Manufacturing is a great industry leader, and we are very pleased to be able to accommodate their current growth as a customer in Jacksonville,” said Jaclyn Kennedy, senior asset analyst with EastGroup Properties Inc., in the release.
