Jan. 7, 2022 – Florida Times-Union — Dozens of businesses have scheduled roles in a “virtual hiring fair” hosted by CareerSource Northeast Florida, the state-supported regional employment agency.
The fair, Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., is part of a string of online events organized to connect job-seekers with employers who’ve been left short-handed after a historic run of resignations that began during the pandemic.
“We continue to receive requests from our partner employers in the region that are eager to fill thousands of open jobs,” agency President Bruce Ferguson said in an announcement about the event.
People looking for work will be able to talk to representatives of more than 30 employers from around Northeast Florida, ranging from Brooks Rehabilitation and Flagler Technical College to Metric Engineering, Florida’s Department of Transportation and Jacksonville’s police and fire agencies.
Online “booths” with information about the employers taking part in the fair will be set up ahead of time for job hunters to preview and decide what interests them.
Job seekers have to register online to take part in the event. Registration is open now at https://bit.ly/33guVm7
