Medical office build-out at UF Health Durbin advances with $13.5M permit (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — The construction of the UF Health Durbin Park project (rendering above) is moving into the third phase.

The $285 million medical campus project had a new permit approved Monday as work continues.

The latest permit is for $13.5 million in construction for medical offices at the site. The permit was issued by the St. Johns County Building Department to Stellar Group, which is headquartered in Jacksonville.

According to a UF Health spokesperson, the permit covers the interior of the medical office building under construction at UF Health Durbin Park.

In addition to this permit, Stellar received a $7.5 million permit earlier this year for the build-out of 13,326 square feet of medical office space at Durbin.

For the overall project, construction is expected to cost $285 million, starting with the medical office building, 99 hospital beds, intensive care medical service units and emergency department with 22 exam rooms. That’s according to Patrick Green, UF Health’s Northeast Florida Regional President, who spoke to the Business Journal last year.

The project, which is expected to bring 2,000 new jobs, is expected to open in the fall of 2026, he said.
