National robotics leader debuts Jacksonville branch (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — A new player is joining Jacksonville’s growing innovation sector — RoboticsLAB.
Led by local entrepreneur Dan Fico, the national leader in robotics integration and automation solutions, the newest location aims to deliver the city’s businesses cutting-edge robotics technology.
Fico, who’s had a hand in various local startups including Redwire and Star Catcher, has spent over 15 years in the technical side of robotics and will lead Jacksonville’s branch of RobotLAB as president.
“Jacksonville is experiencing a tech wave,” Fico said in a prepared release. “We’ve been on the nation’s fastest growing list every year for the past decade, and I see RobotLAB as the perfect opportunity to help build the city of the future.”
RobotLAB Jacksonville will offer a full range of services, including product sales, robotics integration, local technical support, programming and on-site repairs, per the release.
Through RobotLAB’s trial program, businesses can test-drive robotics solutions in their own environment before scaling up.
As the city continues to expand, the demand for more efficient and automated operations grows with it.
With a growing national presence, RobotLAB already has over 35 U.S. locations including California, New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Colorado and others. It specializes in a variety of sectors ranging from hospitality and healthcare to logistics, education, and retail; streamlining processes and improving quality of life.
The national leader is the second robotics company to debut this year. Curabotics, a sister company of Chang Robotics, debuted in March and intends to use autonomous mobile robots to optimize hospital logistics.
“I’m here to help Jacksonville catch up to the present—and bring it into the future,” said Fico. “Let’s put this city on the map as the nation’s innovation leader.”
