FloridaCommerce has announced that the unemployment rate for the Jacksonville region was 3.8 percent in February 2025 – unchanged from 3.8 percent in January 2025.

Of the 883,205 people counted as part of the area’s labor force in February, there were 33,887 unemployed residents in the region – up from 31,271 in December 2024.

In February, Nassau County and St. John’s County recorded the lowest unemployment rates in the region (3.7 percent), followed by Clay County (3.8 percent), Duval County (3.8 percent), Baker County (3.9 percent) and Putnam County (4.6 percent).

The industries gaining jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+ 5,000 jobs); Mining, Logging and Construction (+ 2,400 jobs); Trade, Transportation and Utilities (+ 2,400 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (+ 2,000 jobs); Government (+ 1,100 jobs); Other Services (+ 600 jobs); and Information (+ 300 jobs) and Manufacturing (+ 100 jobs).

The current top-five most advertised job occupations among all industries in the region included registered nurses (2,178), retail salespersons (1,855 positions), first-line supervisors of retail salespersons (1,682 positions), medical and health services managers (1,206), and first-line supervisors of feed preparation and serving workers (989).
