FloridaCommerce has announced that the unemployment rate for the Jacksonville region was 5.1 percent in November 2025 – increasing from 4.4 percent in September 2025.

Of the 895,473 people counted as the area’s labor force in November, there were 46,111 unemployed residents in the region – up from 39,302 unemployed residents in the September report.

In November, Baker, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties all shared the lowest unemployment rates in the region (5.1 percent), followed by Clay County (5.2 percent) and Putnam County (6.3 percent).

The industries that gained the most jobs over the year were Education and Health Services (+9,500 jobs); Leisure and Hospitality (1,000 jobs); and Professional and Business Services (+ 900) and Mining, Logging, and Construction (+500 jobs). The top-three industries losing jobs over the year were Financial Activities (-800 jobs); Government (-500) and Trade, Transportation and Utilities (-100).

The current top-five most-advertised job occupations among all industries in the region included retail salespersons (1,116 positions), registered nurses (946), fast food and counter workers (920), first-line supervisors of food preparation and serving workers (847), and first-line supervisors of retail salespersons (617 positions).
