U-Haul received a $2.8 million permit Tuesday to construct a 14,969-square-foot warehouse west of the Prime F. Osborn III Convention Center.
Located at the western edge of LaVilla, the 123 Myrtle Ave. project calls for a storage warehouse. Rycon Construction Inc. is the contractor.
U-Haul bought the property for $1.3 million in 2020, acquiring 1.1 acres spread across three lots, 1285 Houston St., 141 N. Myrtle Ave., and a .62-acre undeveloped lot located across from Houston Street.
The rental company has dozens of Jacksonville locations or dealers, including 400 W. Ashley St. downtown.
