EPIC Behavioral Healthcare names new CEO (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — EPIC Behavioral Healthcare announced recently that Nangela Pulsfus (pictured above) has taken on the role of CEO.
The organization provides care to individuals and families impacted by substance use and mental health disorders, and other behaviors, serving St. Johns and Flagler counties.
Pulsfus originally joined EPIC as the chief administrative officer in April 2023 and was responsible for the EPIC Recovery Center, finance and operations.
She has more than 20 years of leadership experience as a clinical executive in the nonprofit health care sector, including a stint as the executive vice president and chief clinical officer at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine (now UF Health Flagler Hospital).
“The EPIC board of directors was very fortunate to find a new CEO in our own backyard, and we are thrilled to have Nangela on board,” Board president Virginia Morgan said in a release. “Nangela’s excellent reputation preceded her, with many years of experience working in our community, her commitment to serve, and bringing strong local ties, she was the obvious choice. Looking toward the future of EPIC, we know she is the perfect fit to lead the way.”
According to the release, Pulsfus’ top goal will be to continue to expand EPIC’s substance use and mental health disorder services and programs. She said she will “continue to work with EPIC management, leadership and staff to continuously assess programs and service delivery by utilizing data analytics to move the organization forward efficiently and in the most effective manner.”
EPIC also announced the promotion of Lori Vogel from director of human resources to chief administrative officer.
