Arcadia Cold Storage & Logistics held a ribbon cutting Dec. 5 at its nearly $87 million facility in North Jacksonville. JaxPort featured the opening of the facility in its monthly news report, which was distributed Dec. 9.
According to Arcadia’s website, the 310,922-square-foot facility offers 44,060 pallet positions and a temperature range of minus-10 to 38 degrees. The 32.37-acre property is at 9765 N. Main St. at North Main Street and Van Dyck Road in Imeson International Industrial Park.
Atlanta-based Arcadia and partners Saxum Real Estate and Primus Builders Inc. held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the center in mid-April 2023.
“We want to be part of a port that has expansion plans and is investing in itself with container routes that include South America,” Arcadia Cold’s CEO and President Chris Hughes said in the JaxPort report. “We also like the types of direct container service routes, inbound and outbound routes, given the types of perishable products, frozen or refrigerated, that our customers are involved in with both import and export capacity in and out of the U.S.”
Jacksonville City Council voted 17-0 on Aug. 24 to approve a five-year, 50% Recapture Enhanced Value grant to Arcadia Cold Jacksonville LLC for a refrigerated distribution facility in Imeson International Industrial Park. The vote came shortly after Saxum Real Estate applied for a building permit to construct the facility at a cost of $60.77 million.
Cold-storage development has been on the rise in recent years in Jacksonville. Projects include:

• Expansion of the FlexCold LLC warehouse at 11180 Blasius Road to 346,000 square feet.
• The 274,692-square-foot FreezPak Logistics center at 8730 Somers Road.
