FlixBus service starts in Jacksonville, headed to and from Atlanta, Macon, Orlando and Daytona Beach (Courtesy of the Florida Times-Union) — There’s a new bus service in town, departing twice a day, one going north to Atlanta, and the other south to Orlando.
FlixBus is running its bright-green bus service out of a St. Johns Town Center stop at 4624 Town Crossing Drive.
FlixBus prices will start as low as $9.99 and can be booked via its website or mobile app. Buses in the region will operate five to seven days a week with departures and arrivals throughout the day.
It launched its new Southeast service route Friday from its hub in Atlanta, with buses now headed to Florida, Georgia, Alabama and North and South Carolina.
Its Jacksonville hub is behind the JTA bus shelter in a parking lot near Chick-fil-A and Zale’s jewelers just east of Town Center Parkway. It also will make stops in Macon, Ga., and Daytona Beach.
“We’re very excited to launch this new service in the Southeast in time for the July 4th holiday,” FlixBus Business Director Joanna Patterson said. “This is a big milestone for FlixBus.”
The buses offer free Wi-Fi and power outlets at every seat with extra legroom, FlixBus said. The company and its bus partners have implemented safety measures during COVID-19 like temperature checks, face coverings and thoroughly sanitizing buses after every trip.
Information on the Jacksonville bus service and prices can be found at flixbus.com/bus/jacksonville-fl. It becomes the latest bus service running in and out of Jacksonville, joining Greyhound, Megabus and Red Coach, which run from JTA’s Intercity Bus Terminal at 1111 W. Forsyth St.
FlixBus is based in Europe, launching in 2018 in the United States.
