(Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) – The city is reviewing site plans and a building permit for a proposed glass products manufacturing plant near the Pine Forest area.

Florida Glass Co. LLC has filed a $1.2 million building permit for a proposed 31,250-square-foot manufacturing plant at 3817 Grant Road. Site plans filed on Sept. 10 and most recently updated on Oct. 29 show a 6,000-square-foot warehouse, a 2,135-square-foot office space and a 31,250-square-foot manufacturing space.

The permit specifies the one-story building would house a fabrication area for cutting glass and assembling insulating glass – as well as an office, staff lounge, restrooms and “miscellaneous support spaces.”
Worth Contracting Inc. is listed as the contractor for the building permit. ShayCore Enterprises is listed as the project engineer.

The site plans list three parcels as the building site– located just south of Emerson Road and north of Pine Forest Elementary School – including a 0.34-acre parcel, a 2.11-acre parcel and a 2.76-acre parcel.

Jarrell Thurman – who’s also listed as a registered agent for Florida Glass Co. LLC – purchased the smallest property in Sept. 2018 for $15,000 from Blackwell Brothers Inc. Thurman and Pamela Webb purchased the other two parcels for $90,000 and $95,000, respectively – both in 2018.
