Jacksonville’s Gate Precast cements acquisition of GA-based prefab partner (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — Prefabricated building systems company Gate Precast — the southeast division of Wells, a Minnesota-headquartered company specializing in prefabricated construction — has acquired Hiram, Georgia-based Precision Stone.

The acquisition comes almost exactly one year after Wells acquired Jacksonville-based Gate Precast, a decision that expanded Wells’ footprint to cover 70% of the U.S. and service more than 30 states with 14 manufacturing facilities.

Monday’s announcement of the undisclosed transaction promises to combine Precision Stone’s decades of hands-on expertise with Gate Precast’s architectural building solutions, per a release.

“Precision Stone brings exceptional talent, expertise, and a proven track record of performance to our team,” said Gate Precast President Dean Gwin in a prepared statement. “Their commitment to quality and innovation aligns perfectly with our mission to exceed client expectations on every project.”

The Jacksonville-headquartered Gate team has partnered with Precision Stone for more than 30 years, according to a statement, on projects like the Atlanta Braves’ Truist Park, the Atlanta Falcons’ Mercedes-Benz Stadium and the Four Seasons Hotel in Nashville, among others.

Integration of the two companies is already underway, per the release, and both organizations have committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all clients and ongoing projects.

The strategic acquisition expands Gate Precast’s installation and field service capabilities across the Southeastern U.S. and its long-term growth strategy, according to the release.

Founded in 1984 by Harold Smith, Precision Stone has operated across a wide range of commercial and institutional projects, bringing expertise in architectural and structural precast services.

“Joining forces with Gate Precast allows us to scale our operations and make an even greater impact across the region,” said Precision Stone CEO Shane Smith in the release. “Together, we’re positioned to bring even more high-quality, integrated construction solutions to the market, and we’re excited about what the future holds.”
