The expansion, announced in July, is expected to create 250 jobs over the next two years.
According to the permit issued Monday, Ajax Building Corp. will demolish and fit out the entire third floor of the building at 4600 Touchton Road E. as well as creating storage and utility space on the first floor.
Earlier this year, the New Jersey-based bank, which is a subsidiary of Toronto-Dominion Bank, said it will expand its existing presence in Jacksonville’s Deerwood North office park by 30,000 square feet.
Nick Miceli, regional president of Florida for TD Bank, said then that the expansion has been in the works as the company has seen the growth happening in Jacksonville as more people move to the area.
“Expanding our presence in Jacksonville is a good example of skating to where the puck is going to be,” Miceli told the Business Journal.
TD Bank employs 440 in Jacksonville and 2,300 across the state.
