Wells Fargo to shut down St. Augustine branch (Courtesy of the Jacksonville Business Journal) — In a letter to customers, Wells Fargo announced that it will close down a branch near St. Augustine.

The branch to close is located at 4285 U.S. 1 at the Moultrie Square shopping center, which is anchored by Publix.

Both the branch and its ATM will close for good on May 15.

The bank is not pulling out of the market. It still has branches all over the First Coast, including ones near the Moultrie Square branch at 1919 U.S. 1 South and 200 Plantation Island Drive, both in St. Augustine.

As a company overall, Wells Fargo has been cutting its workforce since 2020. In the fall of 2023, the company indicated that it was interested in continued cuts.
