Recruiting, Retaining & Reskilling Talent in a Changing Economy:
A Regional Workforce Forum

More than 200 guests representing a variety of governmental and nonprofit agencies and private companies in Northeast Florida recently came together to hear experts share their insights about our current workforce environment.

During a Regional Workforce Forum held at the University of North Florida on April 28, 2022, attendees were introduced to the best practices in finding, keeping and developing current and potential employees to remain competitive in workforce development.

Sonia Malik, Global Program Lead – Education and Workforce Development with IBM, provided the keynote address on proven strategies for talent development and moderated an extensive panel discussion among local workforce development leaders.

Ron Hetrick, Senior Labor Economist and Vice President of Staffing Product at Emsi Burning Glass, also provided an insightful presentation on ‘The Demographic Drought’ and some challenges and solutions in hiring and retaining employees moving forward into 2023 and beyond.

Hosted by CareerSource Northeast Florida and JAXUSA Partnership, the ‘Recruiting, Retaining & Reskilling Talent in a Changing Economy’ Forum served to provide those in a variety of human resources positions with a snapshot of how the workforce has changed in Northeast Florida, and nationwide, in the aftermath of the pandemic.
